Jeremy Rogers Honoured for Excellence at Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards
Decades of devotion and an unwavering love of his job have won horseman Jeremy Rogers the Thoroughbred Excellence Award at the 2017 Australian Godolphin Stud and Stable Staff Awards announced in front of a record crowd at Eagle Farm Racecourse tonight.
As the racing manager at one of Australia’s largest racing operations, Darren Weir Racing, Jeremy was nominated for his commitment to the racing industry around Australia, and particularly for his work in the programming of over 2,500 runners nation-wide for Darren Weir.
Jeremy’s reaction to receiving both the Thoroughbred Excellence Award and the Dedication to Racing Award typified his approach to his work.
“I’m truly blown away. I didn’t expect to win an award but to walk away with the top award is a true honour,” Rogers said.
“All I ever wanted to do was to be involved in racing and I soon realised that the administrative side of a stud or stable was where I had something to offer,” Rogers said.
“There are so many good people out there who should be recognised, I’m just thrilled to be one of them and to be acknowledged by organisations such as Godolphin, Racing Australia and Thoroughbred Breeders Australia is humbling.”
“I can’t thank them enough.”
His nominator, leading Victorian Trainer Darren Weir, describes Jeremy as an inspiration to anyone in the racing industry and broader community alike.
